Dear Mr. Comunelli:
This is in reference to your September 11, 1998 letter.
As you may be aware, NSPE has been actively involved in seeking a fair resolution of the matter between NSPE member Ed Turner, P.E., and the City of Idaho Falls, ID. NSPE has to date provided significant support for Mr. Turner, including the review and evaluation of written material for Mr. Turner and his attorney, assistance to Mr. Turner during his case before the Idaho State Industrial Commission relating to the issue of "responsible charge" of engineering, and the publication of several articles and editorials in Engineering Times, NSPE’s monthly publication. Most recently, NSPE also agreed to publish a letter by Sal Galletta, P.E., seeking contributions from NSPE members in support of Mr. Turner. In addition, several Idaho Society of Professional Engineers’ members and the ISPE Board have also been vocally supportive of Mr. Turner on the question of the need for licensed professional engineers to be in "responsible charge"
Sincerely,
Arthur Schwartz
