Dear Mayor and Council Members:

Many of our chapter members (110 members in Southeast Idaho) have watched with interest the activity of the Idaho Falls Public Works Department since the retirement of Don Lloyd. It is not our intent to comment on those who are in present management positions, but to offer our opinion for future hiring of Public Works Managers and Engineers. The Southeast Chapter of the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers recommends that the Public Works Director and the City Engineer be qualified Licensed Professional Engineers with experience in Public Works.

Licensed Professional Engineers trained in Public Works should have the experience and knowledge to protect the public health, safety and welfare of the Citizens of Idaho Falls.
