Financial hardship has been a consistent theme during Turner's long legal struggle with Idaho Falls.

The news of Turner's settlement came April 21, at an award ceremony held by the American Engineering Alliance, a New York City - based association, which recognized Turner for his courage and ethics.  At the ceremony, Turner's supporters called on engineers to continue donating to his legal defense fund so Turner can continue his fight.
